Buyers Salt Dogg Spreader Valve Block HV715E
This thing is like a unicorn trying to find any info on it. So I am sharing all I can. Checking other web sites, they seem to have an accurate picture of it show up on Google, but then when you go to their site, it is a different part (Manual with knobs that is mounted in the cab). Most other sites have no image, so here are a few pics with descriptions of the HV715E Buyers UTS Spreader Valve Block. Another thing, the seals (H3015135A) that go between the two sections of the block are SOLD EACH, but you need (4) to change the block! I ordered two to have a spare, and it turned out two of the four were blown, so I was able to reassemble with only two new ones. Now after the customer picked up the truck and we talked, he believes another shop may have repaired or replaced this once since it was new in 2010. So it may have been THEM that used the short bolts. I would like to believe the manufacturer used the correct length bolts.
Body up, ready to get started. Looking at the hose connections on the bottom, no way I am touching them. The block is leaking between the two blocks as you will see.
Just need to cut a slit in the plastic box and get it out of the way to see waht is going on
Well now it is clear. Stripped bolt.
Both of the "front" bolts stripped.
What a shame this happened. — at

This is why they stripped. The tapped hole is 1" deep, but the bolts are too short and only grabbed on about 3/8" of thread. New bolts will be 1/2" longer.
The seals, for some dumb reason they are sold individually. Not knowing due to lack of info, I ordered two so they would have a spare, but I am going to need both. THIS is why I am posting all of this. so the next guy knows he needs 4 of them!
Stripped holes. That gouge was there before the block was anodized!
The other stripped hole.
Two of the seals, the other two are stuck in the bottom of the top (blue) half.
You can clearly see the aluminum stuck in the threads. My guess is the pressure caused them to fail. It is 10 years old or so, it took a while. More to come tomorrow when I get the longer bolts.

Another view.
Installed, all better.
Tested, no leaks. All set.
Replaced zinc plated mounting bolts with stainless, block bolts with longer alloy bolts.
I really hope this info helps someone working on one of these HV715E Buyers Salt Dogg UTS Spreader Valve Blocks!
