Rebuilding a Meyer E-47 Pump - Step by Step

Page - 6

Unfortunately we did not get a picture of how we remove the Cap Wiper Seal. We use a seal removal tool to pry it out. In the past we used a socket the same diameter as the steel ring of the seal to drive it in with a mallet, but we have found it easier to press the new Wiper in using a vise and a block of 2x4. We then use a socket to fully seat it in place.

Here you can see the new Nylite Washers installed on the studs.

We tighten the nuts down evenly, compressing the Nylite Washers.

Here you can see the washers completely compressed. They are what seals the holes where the Studs pass through the top Cap.

New paint and a decal finish off the job nicely. We mask all the holes in the Power Angle Block, and use spare fittings in the hole for the Angle Hose, and the 90° Swivel. We put the Drain Plug, and the Filter Plugs in hand tight with the old O Rings on them for painting.

The clean Filters are replaced.

The C Valve is installed loosely. The Spring and Check Ball are installed in the B Valve port prior to installing the B Valve.

We then reposition the unit in the vise so we can access the bottom of the Power Angle Block to install the Pilot Check Ball, Spring, and Plug. This must be done prior to installing the Pilot Check Piston and Plug on the top of the Power Angle Valve Block.

You can see we always drizzle clean Hydraulic Oil around the edges of the holes before any parts are inserted.
